Driver Extricated From Car In Connecticut Accident

According to law enforcement authorities with the Hamden Police Department, a driver had to be extricated from a vehicle following a car accident. The accident reportedly occurred on March 14 around 8:30 a.m.

Reports state that the driver of the first car was attempting to exit the Tommy K’s Plaza in the 2400 block of Dixwell Avenue. A second vehicle was traveling south on Dixwell and struck the first vehicle.

Officers with the Hamden Police Department and the Hamden Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the accident. The driver of the first car was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by Hamden Fire Rescue personnel That driver suffered injuries that were reportedly not deemed life-threatening and was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. The other driver was apparently unhurt. Police did not say which driver was at fault in the accident or what the cause of the accident was.
