Man Dies In Connecticut Crash

A 31-year-old Connecticut man was killed in an accident on June 18 after his 1999 Honda Civic was hit by a 2006 Chrysler 300c around 5 a.m. His car was sheared in half in the crash. The 62-year-old driver of the other vehicle continued up the street where his car hit a utility pole and rolled over. According to reports, debris spread as far as 600 feet. The accident occurred in Bridgeport.

Bystanders pulled the surviving driver from his car, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. According to investigators, excessive speed was one reason for the crash, but they did not yet know how fast the drivers were going.

Reconstructing the accident scene was a complex task that involved bringing in investigators from the Trumbull and Monroe police accident reconstruction teams. A portion of the street did not reopen until after 6 p.m.
