Sometimes the actions of one's neighbors are enough to make a person act out in anger. This appears to have been the case in one recent crime spree. Police say that retaliation may have been one of the reasons that a Connecticut man reportedly attacked the property of his neighbors recently. The man is accused of slashing the tires on 15 cars in his neighborhood. Now, he faces criminal charges after the incidents.
The man told authorities that he punctured the tires of his neighbor's cars in response to calls they had made to police the day before about a disturbance at his home. The disturbance included excessively loud music. However, the calls to police apparently angered the man enough for him to carry out the tire slashing.
The criminal charges that were filed will be heard in court in the upcoming weeks. As he progresses through the criminal court process, the suspect will be able to defend himself against the charges made against him. This includes his being allowed to explain exactly why he decided to puncture the tires.
Though the man is innocent of all of the criminal charges made against him until proven otherwise, it appears, according to preliminary reports, that he told police that he committed the crime. However, as many in Connecticut know, media reports can be mistaken with such details. Regardless of the media's accounts, the man will have a chance to explain himself before a court as he works to defend against the criminal charges made against him. Once all the evidence and arguments are presented, it will be up to the court to determine what the next steps will be in this case.
